I am uniquely qualified due to my strong business background, in both finance, real estate, and sales, which has allowed me a depth of knowledge regarding people, laws, guidelines, as well as the strong adherence to therapeutic protocols and interventions. I also adapted to seeing clients via Telehealth due to the Pandemic, often in Spanish, and my creativity and imagination took hold using white board, sharing screen, and uploading books, games and videos for both young and adult clients. I am strong, intuitive, and believe that a client is the expert in their own life. I insist on creating a therapeutic alliance, as the importance of acceptance and safety is paramount to a client, family, or couple moving forward in awareness and healing through a trusting therapeutic bond. In addition, being culturally aware and inclusive is foundational to how I approach my clinical work.
I also approach my therapeutic theory by assessing for trauma, emotional wounds, all through an attachment lens. I believe that identifying emotions, themes, and patterns inform how to proceed and how to engage the client in their own life and process. To enhance my trauma work, I am currently getting certified in Trauma protocols. I am also studying challenges and issues specific to the Geriatric population. I have completed 2 of 4 training courses in Life Span Integration, and in the coming months I also hope to enroll in the first phase of EMDR training, as both are important to my developing Trauma work.
